What the cell?

As convenient as they may be, not everybody needs to take part in your cell phone conversation. So the next time that oh-so-clever ringtone goes off, you can either join the smokers on the front porch, or sit in the foyer if its raining.

The 11/8/05 edition of the College Reporter has an editorial ("Sounds of Library Silence") on page four by Diana Krepich '06. Here's a quote from the second-last paragraph of the editorial:

"Honestly, I don't know when the library became a place of socialization, but it needs to stop. Stop being loud and ignorant. People there are trying to read and write and think in a space that used to be guaranteed to be as quiet as possible. This is college, where there's real work to be done... Turn off the cell phones and shut your mouths. The library is the last sacred place of Do Not Disturb, I for one, vote to keep it that way."
